Montecito isn't just a getaway for me. It's home. I grew up here, and my grandfather was a polo player in Santa Barbara, so this place runs deep in my veins. When I come back now, it's like slipping into the most perfectly worn-in cashmere sweater. Everything just feels right.

I recently stayed at the stunning Paraiso Collection with Wanderlust Luxury Rentals to catch a polo match at Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club , which is just up the road (literally 3.5 miles). The timing couldn't have been more perfect. Spanish-Andalusian architecture, olive trees for days, and that California light streaming through every window. It was exactly the reset I needed while staying close to the sport that's been part of my family for generations.

The classic Montecito spot for a reason. When I want something clean and simple, I order a perfectly cooked steak with a baked potato. The vibe is old-school steakhouse with that California ease.
